What is Developmental Editing?
Developmental book editing is a collaborative, creative partnership between myself and you, the author. Together, we'll help hone your voice, vision, and narrative execution to help your writing better resonate with readers.
I focus in developmental book editing for fiction. Whether your manuscript is done, nearly done, or maybe only sort of done, I'll consult on the following elements (to highlight just a few) as they apply to the overall story:

I work with short stories, novellas, and full length novels. We can even take a look at your first few chapters of a longer manuscript to ensure you are putting your best foot forward for readers and publishers!
We'll start with a pre-edit conversation to learn more about each other and our goals. Then I'll work my magic! All feedback will be provided using both in-text and sidebar comments alongside a full developmental edit letter that provides an in-depth summary and explanation of my edits. Then we'll have another opportunity to follow-up with one another to review my work.
